This agreement also allows American AAdvantage members to earn miles when flying on Turkish Airlines and will, no doubt, create a greater awareness of Turkish Airlines throughout the U.S.

In addition to its flights to Almaty in Kazakhstan, as of 19 October 2005 Turkish Airlines also added twice-weekly flights to the Kazakh capital Astana. Speaking at a press conference and later at a dinner held at Astana on the occasion of the first flight, Turkish Airlines President Temel Kotil said the airline was very pleased to be contributing to commercial activity between the two countries, which is growing by the day.
